Information about personal data protection on medokomerc.cz
In accordance with the provisions of Section 89 of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications, we hereby inform you that our servers use so-called cookies for their operation. A cookie is a short text file that a visited web page sends to the browser. This text file allows the website to record information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings. Thanks to this stored information, your next visit to the site can be easier and more productive. Cookies are therefore important, and thanks to them, browsing the web is much simpler.
We use cookies primarily for storing your safe search settings, tracking the number of visitors to the site, selecting relevant advertisements and saving their settings, facilitating registration for new services, protecting your data, or storing ad settings.
What types of cookies do we use on our website? How we and our partners (e.g., Google) use these cookies in advertising? More information about our privacy protection principles can be found here (link to the "Personal Data Protection" subpage). The Privacy Policy describes how we protect your personal data and other data when using cookies.
When storing cookies, there is almost no occupation of free capacity on your HDD (computer disk), because the size of these files is usually several kilobytes. Cookies are not used to obtain any sensitive personal data or to identify you as a specific person.
Standard web browsers support cookie management. If you want to view detailed information and settings, use your browser's help function. If you have enabled the use of cookies in your browser, it means that you agree to the use of standard cookies by our servers.
Types of Cookies
Session cookies – These are files that are stored on your computer only until the end of the browser session. Session cookies allow information to be retained when moving from one web page to another and eliminate the need to re-enter certain data.
Persistent cookies – These are files that remain stored on your computer for a longer period. Persistent cookies help us identify your computer if you return to our website, but they do not allow us to identify you personally in any way. Another advantage of persistent cookies is that they allow us to tailor our pages to your interests and prevent the repeated display of the same advertisement. Even in this case, we cannot identify you personally. This data is stored completely anonymously and is not linked to any other data.
What do we use cookies for?
To store personal settings – Cookies allow our websites to remember information important for the website's behavior, appearance settings, and the like. This includes selecting your preferred language or the region where you are currently located. Based on this information about your location, the website can offer, for example, local weather forecasts or traffic reports. These cookies also allow you to adjust font size, text, and other website personalization.
To test whether conditions for restricting service use are met – Our services are financed primarily from advertising revenue, and therefore we reserve the right to limit or prevent access to our sites for users who use tools that block the display of advertising. For this purpose, we also use cookies for technically testing end devices to determine whether they use such tools, so we can display the appropriate notification or restrict the use of our sites. We retain these cookies for 30 days for this purpose, solely to distinguish whether you have been shown our notification about the use of the aforementioned tool or not.
For security – We use cookies to authenticate users, prevent fraudulent use of login credentials, and protect user data from unauthorized party access.
For statistical recording, traffic measurement, and network security – Analytical software stores anonymous cookies each time you visit our site. These anonymous cookies help us determine what percentage of users return to our site repeatedly. Thanks to this, we are better able to understand how our readers behave on our sites, what they prefer, and what interests them. We also use the Google Analytics tool for these purposes. More information about this tool can be found here. [Note: The original text lacks the link here, but implies one should be present.]
For advertising purposes – We also use cookies to increase the relevance of displayed ads for you as a user, and at the same time, we are able to offer our advertisers better conditions for advertising. Cookies are commonly used to select advertising based on what is relevant to the user (remarketing), to improve campaign performance reports, and to prevent users from seeing ads they have already seen. We use remarketing data primarily for user segmentation (visitors) in order to deliver the right advertising message. These segments are created based on several general patterns of visitor behavior and the content of the pages they visit.
Within user segmentation, we may collect general information about the approximate geographic location of your computer or mobile device. This data is collected for the purpose of providing personalized content.
Some cookies may be created by the advertising systems used themselves. They use them to find out how many people have seen a certain ad and how many have seen it repeatedly. Thus, cookies from other entities may also be stored on your computer via our web servers. These are mainly operators of advertising systems used on our sites. On our sites, we use advertising systems from multiple parties, e.g., Google systems (AdSense, AdExchange), Facebook, the system of SEZNAM.CZ, a.s. (Sklik). These systems typically use remarketing techniques (see below).
These advertising systems usually have their own privacy policies, and our servers cannot read or write these cookies. In some cases, the above systems may be used to display our advertising to you within those systems.

Tracking Pixels and Local Storage
A tracking pixel (web beacon) is a small graphic image placed on a web page that, similar to a cookie, can be used to collect information (IP address, time the page content was viewed, browser type used, and the existence of cookies previously set by the same server). Some of our pages may use web beacons to monitor the effectiveness of our sites, to test whether the conditions for restricting the use of our services are met, and as a supplement to cookies for user segmentation purposes for displaying content and advertising.
In some cases, we also use the "local storage" of your internet browser or similar functionality via "IndexedDB" in the browser for purely technical purposes (e.g., storing volume settings, etc.). This is a special storage area in the browser where user settings can be stored. These settings are usually stored in these repositories until they are changed.
Cookie Management Settings in Browsers:
Standard web browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, etc.) support cookie management. Each browser allows for custom settings where you can block individual cookies, manually delete them, or completely disable their use. Blocking or allowing cookies can be done for individual websites. For more detailed information, please use your browser's help function.
Options for setting cookie management within major browsers can be found here:
You can change the settings of the cookies used at any time via the Cookie Settings Change link in the website footer.
