Strengthening immunity and combating depression
Lemon balm elixir of life
The arrival of autumn can bring gloom to many people's souls, and there's often talk of autumn depression. At the same time, it's traditionally a period of increased risk of various respiratory diseases, sore throats, and the like. That's why today we're bringing you a tip for a honey-lemon balm elixir of life – that's what they call lemon balm in southern countries, and the same can be said about our honey! Lemon balm can work wonders on a mind burdened with worries; in traditional medicine, it's used to relieve tension and improve memory.
So how do you make it? The recipe isn't complicated at all. You need fresh lemon balm leaves, one or two lemons, and ideally Medokomerc meadow honey. Pick the leaves into a roughly half-liter jar, and you can even rub them a little to better extract the active ingredients. Pour boiled hot water over them and let them steep until the water cools down. Then combine the amount of lemon juice and honey according to your taste. The drink can be drunk both warm and chilled. When serving, don't forget to garnish with a sprig of lemon balm ☺
