What affects the quality of honey? The origin doesn't matter much. The honesty of the processor does.
You like me. And you know I'm useful. But as soon as I invade your personal, let alone intimate, space, my merits are forgotten and I find myself in danger. It's literally a matter of life and death for me. Even though I've been sweetening your life since you were a kid.
Do you know who I am yet? I'm a bee, of course. A honey bee... And just like you, I can't do without warmth and sunshine, without blossoming forests, meadows, and hillsides. For you, they are mainly a source of pleasure. For me, however, they are a set table. Moreover, you humans also benefit from my feast, especially now when the days are getting shorter, the temperature is dropping, and you are coming home with chilled bodies more and more often. How happy you are to reach for a jar of honey then. Quality honey...
Every schoolchild knows that the color and taste of honey are influenced by the plants from which I collect nectar, and also by the cleanliness of the environment in which I live. Whether I buzz under Říp Mountain, around the Svět pond, or in a meadow on the other side of the world, it does not affect the quality of the honey. The people who complete our work are responsible for its final form. We bees work just as diligently as always, regardless of merit or profit.
Floral, Mixed, Forest
Three basic types, the names of which reflect the type of honey plants from which I "produce" the golden goodness. Everyone knows that. But how do you know in a store or at a market that you are being offered quality honey? That it won't embarrass us, the diligent little bees, and won't disappoint you.
"Take a jar of honey and very slowly turn it upside down. Quality honey should flow as slowly as possible. If it flows quickly, or almost like water, definitely don't buy it," advises Milan Špaček, our director. Medokomerc buys honey not only from domestic beekeepers but also from many countries in Europe and South America. We dare to say that the company's long-standing work and successes are proof that if you want honest honey, it doesn't matter whether you go to a beekeeper at the market or take it from a shelf in a supermarket. The processing and care that has been given to it is absolutely essential.
