Why eat a teaspoon of honey regularly?
Did you know that honey is a significant antioxidant and revitalizer? One teaspoon a day has a beneficial effect on the entire human body.
In the Czech Republic, however, honey consumption is much lower than it should be. The average Czech consumes 0.9 kilograms per year. That is 2.4 grams per day, while one teaspoon contains 18 grams of honey. Let us therefore remember the reasons why honey is so important for our health.
Strengthens the heart
Research shows that antioxidants in honey can prevent narrowing of the arteries. Depending on the location, narrowing can cause heart failure, vascular problems or headaches. Drinking a glass of "living" water with a few teaspoons of honey has a preventive effect against this.
Speeds up metabolism
Who would have thought that sweet honey would benefit weight loss. But it is! If you are watching your weight, doctors recommend excluding all sugar-based sweets, but definitely not honey. This is because the sugar present in honey has a different composition. It speeds up the metabolism, which is essential for weight loss. You therefore do not have to be afraid of sweetening with honey when fighting excess kilos.
Improves memory
Among other things, honey is an excellent fighter against stress, it renews the cell system and also improves memory. This is good news especially for those who sometimes struggle with their own memory. Calcium, which honey contains, is easily absorbed by the brain, and thanks to this it works better. "Dark honeydew honey or forest honey, which consists of honeydew and flower, is more suitable for the elderly because it is rich in minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, which are beneficial for the body. It also has a more pronounced and intense flavor, which older people will appreciate more," says Milan Špaček from Medokomerc, which processes these honeys.
Reduces cholesterol levels
People with higher cholesterol should definitely indulge in honey regularly. It does not contain cholesterol. On the contrary, its components and vitamins contribute to reducing its levels. Daily consumption of honey has a beneficial effect on the amount of antioxidants in the body, which are very successful in the fight against cholesterol.
Cleanses from the outside and from the inside
Honey is an excellent antioxidant, which means that its regular consumption will cleanse your body of various toxins. Honey is a strong antiseptic, so you can prevent various diseases associated with the digestive tract by using one teaspoon of honey a day. In addition, during its passage through the stomach, honey breaks down the germs and heals small wounds on the mucous membrane. And when your intestines are healthy, the effect of honey will also be reflected on your body. Toxins will be washed out of you and you will have skin like a baby.
Promotes quality sleep
Honey can calm the nerves and keep the psyche calm. It contains glucose, which is quickly absorbed into the blood, thus promoting relaxation and reducing mental problems. These can sometimes very unpleasantly affect the sleep regime. Thanks to honey, however, you don't have to be afraid of insomnia. The hormone melatonin, which is created thanks to insulin, whose level honey increases in the blood, you will sleep as if you were thrown into the water.
