Preserving nuts in honey.
Make a batch of nuts in honey this autumn for a delicious treat in winter. It's easy to make.
What to do if you have a lot of walnuts left over? Their specific taste combines perfectly with the sweetness of honey, so we have a simple guide for you on how to infuse walnuts in honey.
You will need a clean, ideally boiled jar, peeled walnuts (you can achieve easy peeling by peeling after about 20 minutes of scalding with boiling water), non-crystallized liquid meadow honey Medokomerc - if you have honey in the refrigerator or another cold place, preheat it in a hot bath to max. 60 °C.
Gradually alternate inserting nuts and doses of honey to ensure even distribution. But keep in mind that heavier nuts may sink to the bottom through the liquid honey, so put smaller nuts on top and quickly cool the jar to allow the honey to solidify. You can also add various herbs to the honey with the nuts, e.g. lemon balm or lavender.
